SIEVERT PROPANE
TORCHES
SIEVERT PROPANE TORCHES have been recommended
by master builders in all of the Live Steam and Model Engineering
magazines published around the world. You will find that this
product represents an investment, as all superior tools do, but
that the savings in fuel cost versus oxygen & acetylene will
more
than offset the cost of these precision tools in a few years. If one
were to consider the cost of the oxygen & acetylene tanks it
would be quickly realized that propane is the only method that is
affordable and should be considered for brazing and silver soldering
in the home shop.
Though Propane burns at a lower temperature than oxygen/acetylene,
these torches, when equipped with the larger burners in this product
line, will generate considerable more heat (BTU's per minute) than
the conventional oxygen/acetylene torches found in the home shop. The
lower flame temperature of propane prevents the "burning" or melting
of thin sectioned metals being brazed or silver soldered, such as the
tube ends found in miniature boilers.
SIEVERT STANDARD BURNERS connect to the universal handle #3488 with a
neck tube. The neck tube thread is M20 x 1. All burners are made of
high quality brass unless stated otherwise. All burners of this
type require the use of a neck tube .
BURNERS FOR SOFT SOLDERING, SMALL BRAZING JOBS AND GENERAL
HEATING
Burner 3938 with needle point flame for precision work.
Burner 3939 and 3940 with pin point flames.
Burner 3941 with a strong, full bodied flame.
HIGH CAPACITY BURNERS #2941 through #2944 are suitable for larger,
higher heat demanding jobs. All burners have highly effective,
full-bodied-wind proof flames.
HIGH POWER BURNER #2960 is made completely of heavy
chrome plated steel. This is the largest burner available.
This burner replaces the Sievert burners # 2945 & 2946
with are no longer available.
SIEVERT NECK TUBES For connection of burners 2941-2944, 2960 and
3938-3941 to universal handle #3488. Connection threads BSP 3/8" LH
on handle and M20 x 1 on burner. Made of high quality brass.

SIEVERT 3523-3526 CYCLONE BURNERS WITH FIXED NECK TUBE: These
burners are connected directly to universal handle #3488 without a
separate neck tube. Connection thread is BSP 3/8". The Cyclone Burner
provides a rotating enveloping flame that sweeps right around the
pipe and gives an even temperature all around the pipe joint.
Suitable distance between flame and pipe = diameter of pipe. The gas
stream is
diverted through angled ducts and ejected from the burner
tube of steel to form one cyclone-rotating vortex
flame. Primary air inlets to burner are situated
far away from the flame, which is an advantage
when working in confined spaces or inside the
firebox of locomotive and stationary boilers.
NEEDLE POINT BURNER Sievert #3537 for Precision Jobs is a fine and
precise needle point flame, suitable for lead soldering, stained
glass work, brazing small parts or piping etc. Burner tube of steel.
Fits directly onto handle #3488 neck tube. A handy size.
FAN-TAIL BURNER #3517 is suitable for stripping pain & varnish,
grain-patterning wood or heating of sheet metal for bending. Broad,
flat-effective flame. A protective hood over the primary air inlets
prevents blockage due to paint flakes and dust. Burner tube of steel
can be offset at an angle, making it easier to work in tight corners.
Fits directly on handle #3488.
SIEVERT DUAL NECK TUBE #7152 fits all Sievert neck tubes and standard
burners, thus doubling the heating area and giving an extra wide
flame. Width 4.7 inches. Made of brass.
SIEVERT NECK TUBE SUPPORT #7172 fits all Sievert neck tubes. Fastened
by a bolt & nut. Gives a 3-point support. A hot burner can be set
down safely.
SIEVERT #3501 neck tube for connection of Primus brand burners to
Sievert handle #3488. Bent length 3.5 inches. May also be used to
make special adapters for handle #3488.
SIEVERT #3488 UNIVERSAL HANDLE WITH ECONOMIZER VALVE: This handle is
for use with all Sievert burners and neck tubes. Handle
incorporates
both a standard valve and an economizer valve which features a
pilot flame for the burner. This detail saves both gas and time.
The main and the pilot flame are adjustable individually, the
front knob for the pilot flame and the rear knob for the
main flame. When the trigger is depressed the flame
changes from the pilot flame setting to the main flame
setting. Formerly #3487. Please NOTE
that neck tubes may be required depending on
the type of burners used.
SIEVERT REGULATOR: The #3060 series regulator is rated for up to
25kg/hr gas flow capacity. Fixed settings at 28 or 57 psi plus
infinitely
variable in between these two fixed settings with great accuracy
for
precision adjustment. Regulator has POL thread which will fit the
standard BBQ pit type propane tanks. The regulator is not (cannot)
to
be used to shut off the propane tank. The propane bottle valve is
to
be used for that purpose.
PROPANE GAS HOSE #3512: Synthetic hose made of a material especially
designed for Propane use. Hose is 12 feet long with the appropriate
(9/16"-18 LH) fittings installed on each end for connection between
handle and regulator.
