ROUNDHOUSE CLASSIC SERIES
Roundhouse produces some of the most reliable Ready-to-Run Live
steam locomotives on the market today. They are great steamers that
fire well in inclement weather. Though Roundhouse lists a 25 minute
boiler duration once these engines are broken in, they will normally
yield a 30-40 minute running time. The Fowler, Russell, and S.R. & R.L. #24
are convertible between Ga. 1 & Ga. 0 using a wheel conversion
kit as listed in our General Catalog. All other engines, except the Forney
are easily re-gaugeable between Ga. 1 & Ga. 0 as they come from the
factory.
All Roundhouse Classic Locomotives are built to a scale of 16mm except the
S.R. & R.L. #24 which is to "G" scale (14 mm/ft). Roundhouse
Locomotives use Walschaerts valve gear for both manual & Radio
Control. The boiler is of silver soldered construction and gas
(Butane) fired.
Standard fittings are safety valve, filler plug, pressure gauge,
displacement lubricator , reversing gear, gas burner control and
throttle. Cylinders are 9/16" bore 5/8" stroke.
All Roundhouse locomotives will operate on LGB 600mm radius (2'-0")
track. The locomotives all share standard size double acting
cylinders which are 9/16" bore by 5/8" stroke.
Radio Control of both the throttle and reversing gear is available as
a Factory installed option on all locomotives. See listing of
individual engines.

The Hunslet Engine Co. Ltd. of Leeds in 1906, it has undergone a number
of changes over the years and the model depicts it as running in the

mounted in the water carrying tender for continuous steaming. A water
gauge with blowdown valve is contained in the cab. R/C gear in
tender. Color is Black.
Dimensions are: length 28", width 4.3/4",

The ‘Forney’design, was used by a number of American locomotive builders
as it offered a compact engine with integral water tank that could be used
on small lines. They were particularly common on the many narrow gauge railways
where size was important but a hard working loco with a good operating range
was required.
The Roundhouse Forney is based on locomotives built by the Portland Company
around the turn of the century (20th that is) and found on many of the narrow
gauge railways in Maine.
An unusual feature of the model is the use of an articulated front power bogie
which enables this relatively long engine to operate on small radius curves
with minimum overhang.
Please note that this model is available for either 32mm or 45mm gauge, but
is not adjustable between the two so please state gauge when ordering.
Available Options: Water gauge and boiler top up system available either factory fitted or DIY.
S.R. & R.L. No.6 lettering and numbers.
Dimensions are: length 15", width 4.3", height 5.9", weight 7.25 lbs.
